After Rittenhouse Trial, Media Slurs Of 'White Supremacy', 'Racism' Are Meaningless
TV "news" has ceased providing information and has instead shifted to a nonstop propaganda cycle based almost exclusively on skin hatred
“…Since in reality Big Brother is not omnipotent and the party is not infallible, there is need for an unwearying, moment-to-moment flexibility in the treatment of facts. The keyword here is BLACKWHITE….Applied to a Party member, it means a loyal willingness to say that black is white when Party discipline demands this. But it means also the ability to BELIEVE that black is white, and more, to KNOW that black is white, and to forget that one has ever believed the contrary.”
―George Orwell, 1984
In the wake of the Kyle Rittenhouse verdict, based on the cacophony of talking heads from the zombie enterprise that is TV news, it’s crystal clear that in order for American civil discourse to have a future, we need to stop feeding machines that pump out “Two Minutes Hate” across nonstop 24-hour news cycles.
Before we go any further, let’s review the facts. You remember those, right?
Facts are those pesky things defined as:
Knowledge or information based on real occurrences.
Something demonstrated to exist or known to have existed.
A real occurrence; an event.
Now that we have that out of the way, let’s review the facts of the Rittenhouse case, which are these: on Aug. 25, 2020, Kyle Rittenhouse, a white teenager, shot three other white people in self-defense after he was assaulted in Kenosha, Wisconsin amid protests and riots in response to the police-involved shooting of Jacob Blake.
Blake - who was wanted on charges in connection with an alleged sexual assault - was armed with a knife and had put one officer in a headlock when he was shot by police, who were responding to a 911 call from his girlfriend.
All of those are what the dictionary defines as “facts”.
In light of those facts, there is nothing about the Rittenhouse case that can remotely be described as involving something called “white supremacy” or the Bolshevik term “racism”. Nothing.
Any argument to the contrary is rooted in delusion, and very likely, race hatred itself.
That’s why the media response to the Rittenhouse verdict has been so confounding to so many Americans, at least half of whom believe in the case of Rittenhouse, justice was served and an innocent man was spared.
Take, for instance, this ESPN clip. You remember ESPN, right? The “all-sports network”?
Here are three on-air personalities responding to the verdict - again, in a case involving zero black suspects or victims - by claiming this was a racially motivated shooting rather than, as the jury decided, an act of self-defense.
“We are all black people,” is how segment host and basketball reporter Malika Andrews opens the NBA Today segment with co-hosts and former NBA players Richard Jefferson and Kendrick Perkins.
“This is a culmination of so many things, especially in black America,” she wraps up the segment after quoting MacArthur fellow Jacqueline Woodson, a black novelist.
It’s all very disorienting.
“What direct and quantifiable role did race play in the Kyle Rittenhouse verdict?” one might rightfully ask.
After all, none of the victims were black. The suspect wasn’t black. The jury was made up of seven women and five men, including one person of color.
Jacob Blake was black, but had no direct involvement in the Kenosha event.
What did we miss here?
And then it dawns on you.
This isn’t about the black community at all.
It’s about how a select group of elitist and privileged black Americans feel about the average white American.
This is about hatred towards a specific people group and a perceived power structure based on skin color alone as the defining factor.
This is about top-down, corporate-backed “racial justice”, verbal, economic, and (likely soon) physical retribution by one people group against another, in this case over their displeasure of a judicial act.
Why do Disney and other global conglomerates tolerate and even encourage such skin hatred on its airwaves?
Oh, that’s right - because that’s how Corporate America rolls now.
It’s no secret that this ideology doesn’t stem merely from board meetings or academia, but is now the end result of Marxist-inspired “Critical Race Theory” having infiltrated nearly every facet of American culture and accelerating the ever-widening yaw that has politically paralyzed much of this country.
It’s what happens when Middle America is blindsided by a media-led racial antipathy blitz inspired by the likes of “White Fragility” author Robin DiAngelo, “anti-racist” peddler Ibram Henry Rogers (aka “Ibram X. Kendi”) and others who have achieved celebrity status from selling others on reasons to blame white people for their unhappiness.
We need to call it what it is: anti-white propaganda.
I don’t specifically blame Jefferson or Perkins; unlike the vast majority of Americans, they were given the privilege of earning multimillion-dollar contracts on the basis of their ability to throw a ball into a circular opening 10 feet high in the air.
Pretty sweet deal if you ask me.
Nor do I necessarily blame Ms. Andrews, whose good looks and articulate - dare we say “white”? - speech mannerisms no doubt earned her the cushy job at a failing sports network that she currently enjoys.
No, the public needs to understand these types of race-baiting segments are born in an editorial meeting somewhere, no doubt batted around by aging white folks who cling to a dying medium (and nearly extinct livelihoods) by feigning understanding and empathy with a small but radical and increasingly amplified minority of Americans who hate our courts, our police, our flag, and our way of life.
But it’s not just faux-sports networks - it’s also dying faux-news networks as well.
On Nov. 21, CNN - yes, that is still a thing - ran a story (editorial? Who can even tell anymore?) with the headline, “There's nothing more frightening in America today than an angry White man”.
The clickbait post features an image from the Jan. 6 protests at the Capitol with a couple white dudes wearing Trump gear and one particularly angry-looking white dude with an Oath Keepers cap.
See? The photo has white people - White! People! - entering the Capitol during an “insurrection” that saw police escorting the “rioters” into the “sacred” halls of Congress. Can’t you see how dangerous this is to mUh dEmOcRaCy?
Never mind they were apparently allowed in there by authorities, according to video footage.
Never mind the only death on that day involved what now appears to be a rogue Capitol police officer (who is black) fatally shooting a female protester (who was white).
Never mind that out of the several protesters charged with federal crimes for that day’s events, zero have been charged with insurrection.
Never mind that the FBI now confirms the agency had an informant who was among those who "stormed" Capitol on Jan. 6.
Never mind that Capitol police were told to “stand down” despite the threat of potential violence on Jan. 6, according to the New York Times.
All that matters here is that visible angry white dudes were captured in a photo taken on Jan. 6.
The story’s author is CNN “enterprise writer-producer” John Blake, whose own editorial spectrum spans from headlines like “The Second Amendment is not about guns -- it's about anti-Blackness” to “The new threat: 'Racism without racists'".
While initially conceding that the “vast majority of White men are no menace to society”, Blake goes on to assert the “angry White man has been a major character throughout US history. He gave the country slavery, the slaughter of Native Americans, and Jim Crow laws. His anger also helped fuel the January 6 insurrection at the Capitol.
“It's this angry White man -- not the Black or brown man you see approaching on the street at night -- who poses the most dangerous threat to democracy in America.”
Though there’s a lot to digest here, for our immediate purposes all we need to really consider is what Blake claims to be the European male’s only contribution to American history:
Slavery
Genocide
Jim Crow laws
That’s it. That’s the extent of what European immigrants and their descendants have contributed to the American dream, according to Blake. Class dismissed.
Of course, this isn’t a serious news report. This isn’t even a credible opinion piece. This is race-baiting trash, pure and simple.
But we have to stop dismissing these links - and there are literally millions of these circulating online - as mere smoke-blowing and start calling them what they are: thinly-veiled calls for physical violence against a specific people group, namely here the “angry White man”.
Yes, we know CNN is trash. We know ESPN is nearly as bad.
We know this because of the majority of Americans are no longer watching: ESPN is still trying to shuck and jive its way from an all-time ratings nadir in the summer of 2020, while CNN just saw its biggest year-over-year drop in prime time, down 57%.
But far more concerning is the legitimacy granted to these and other outlets by their MSM comrades, which in turn creates a global echo chamber that rattles just loud enough for the undiscerning to confuse the noise for an actual consensus.
So where are we in this mess? What state of disorder must MSM outlets like ESPN and CNN be in for them to even consider running garbage content segments like these (of which there more examples too numerous to cite here)?
Fully 84% of Americans in a 2020 poll said the MSM was to blame for the growing political divide in the U.S. Even those who work in the industry talk out of both sides of their mouth - one side talking about “confirming facts” and “reporting what we know”, and out the other side comes talk of “our demographic” and which socioeconomic slice of the shrinking pie still tunes in to watch their corporate-funded propaganda.
And at the end of the day, that’s what this is: as more corporations turn their backs on the American public for more specialized (read: politicized) audiences at both ends of the spectrum, more Americans are tuning out and going elsewhere for their information.
Why?
Because we’re tired of having to go to a job where we’re told by Human Resources what to believe, how to speak, how to vote, what to tolerate and not tolerate, only to go home, sit on our couches and watch a sea of “news anchors” repeat the very same talking points.
Not only have broadcast media depleted nearly all their trust capital with the TV news-watching public, but they’ve blown their credibility cache on a faux-justice movement that will undoubtedly find them on the wrong side of history not very long from this writing.
If you are someone who still cares about American values, the First Amendment, the freedom of the press not to propagandize but to inform, I have only one question for you:
How can you still justify watching?
